Reciva Remote Launches on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, Giving Consumers a Rich User Interface and Multi-Room Audio Capabilities
Cambridge, UK. 21 September 2010 – Reciva.
Today heralds an exciting new era in Internet Radio with the launch of Reciva Remote for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Exclusive to Reciva-based radios*, this wireless remote application gives users complete control over their device in a simple, yet beautifully designed interface. The app offers faster access to all radio functionality and can also be used as a media streamer between your home network and your radio. Using the enhanced UI (including Retina display) found on the Apple products users can now enjoy full colour station logos, album art and icon graphics, regardless of the display on the radio itself.
The remote app also offers consumers a cost effective way of making multi-room audio a reality. The app can control an unlimited number of Reciva-based radios, giving users the opportunity to rename their devices to whatever they choose – e.g. Kitchen, Dad’s Den, Bedroom etc – and then send the same (or even different) audio to every room of the house at the swipe of a finger!
Matt Shortt, Marketing Director at Reciva said “we realised pretty quickly that there was no point in reinventing the wheel by advising our brands to put an expensive full colour display on every radio in their range, especially when other devices already do it so much better. The current crop of colour screen Internet Radios are, quite frankly, not very good. We give consumers a rich user experience that allows them to explore the full range of services on our platform - whether that be streaming your music collection or setting up a new Pandora stream to play over dinner - all from the palm of your hand. Our new app makes using Internet Radios and Media Streamers a more hassle-free, and most importantly, much more enjoyable experience ” Matt went on to add “We recognise not everyone has an iPhone so we are not stopping at the Apple products. We hope to have more news in the coming months on Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile and RIM, amongst others”
Reciva Remote is available to download on the Apple App store here: Reciva Remote App and you can complement your Reciva-based listening even further by downloading our mobile radio app - Reciva iRadio - also available on the App Store here: Reciva iRadio App
